Studio One Thirty Nine.
The studio...my meditative space that allows me to think and create...to be alone and to allow mysteries and questions to unfold in my work.
When I first came to New Mexico, it knocked me off my feet. I knew I had to return. After years of vacationing and connecting more with New Mexico, I wanted to create in this historical and spiritual area. Frank Shelton and I uprooted from the beautiful south to the wild west. Abiquiu became our home and the land and light became my teachers.
On the property an old chicken coop existed. It was in terrible condition but interesting enough to spend a few years renovating and creating "the coop," our studio. The old wood rafters and window sills remain while new energy occupies the space. Now, the coop is my sanctuary.
